Bowen Murals
The town of Bowen is also a unique gallery. Follow the signs around and you will soon spot one of the 19 murals painted on the sides of buildings including the local library. These fascinating murals were mostly commissioned by the Bowen Murals Society and depict scenes from the town’s diverse history.
See if you can find the murals showing an early salt harvest, pioneering families, aboriginal and islander history, early Bowen buildings and also the magnificent Catalina flying boats.
