Bowen Aerodrome Museum

The museum was built to commemorate the involvement of Bowen as a base for the RAAF Catalina flying boats during World War 2. Flying boats were used to patrol the Coral Sea waters for enemy ships and submarines.

The museum is located on the site of the original military air strip. Here you will find several large-scale dioramas depicting various scenes of the base at the time plus a selection of other memorabilia.
